About Hodges Real Estate

For more than 75 years, the name Hodges has meant Real Estate. Founded in 1924 by R.T. Hodges, family-owned-and-operated Hodges Real Estate has grown up with Fort Lauderdale and Broward County. Since those early days from their office in the Maryland Hotel on Andrews Avenue (a site that is now part of the Las Olas Riverfront development), Fort Lauderdale has always benefited from the vision and expertise of the Hodges family.

Grandfather R.T. Hodges was also a developer, responsible for the Dixie Park subdivision off what is today known as Old Dixie Highway. In the late 1930s, when the Las Olas waterfront area was being developed, it was R.T. who advertised he could show houses “by land, sea, or air.” This do-anything frame of mind is the hallmark of Hodges Real Estate, and that same spirit is alive and well in their offices today.

His two sons, Robert and Roland, followed him into the business, eventually opening their own offices which have served this community for more than 35 years. Each of R.T.’s two sons had two sons of their own, and all four of those men joined the team. Roland’s son Chuck Hodges runs the same office today that R.T. Hodges founded so many years ago and now Chuck’s son Chad makes the fourth generation of Hodges to serve Fort Lauderdale’s real estate needs.

This rich genealogy assures you of experience, commitment and honesty. No business could survive for three-quarters of a century unless their reputation was one of reliable, professional service. At Hodges Real Estate, their word has been their bond through times that have seen the Great Depression, World War II, wars in Korea, Vietnam, and the Persian Gulf, and the administrations of fourteen Presidents. Still today, they are making new history as the real estate office that knows Fort Lauderdale best.
